(please clap) in reference to life here on the southern end of Illinois.  There was a fair amount of room noise during the recording but our storytellers and musicians did excellent all the same.

Last year's fanfiction episodes were so fun that we decided to do them again! This time, we brought along special guests from Chicago's very special, very cool Peaches & Hot Sauce comedy collective as well as the Chicago Nerd Comedy Festival!

The second part of our second Annual celebration is just as full of music as the first! Dwight, Claire, and Eric continue to recap some of their favorite songs of 2013, plus we get some great reflections on the passing of time from Nerdologues members and group friends alike!

It's the first new Your Stories of 2014! So we might as well spend it looking back at the year that was, right? Right! This is our second annual Annual episode! Lots of folks felt inspired to perform music this time, and there are some stellar stories on top.

It's the last Your Stories podcast of 2013, and just like last year, we thought we'd take this time to highlight some of our favorite stories from the previous 12 months. We've also got brand new introductions to these tales by some Nerdologues/audience members who liked them a whole lot, as well as the usual musical accompaniment.

Our last brand-new episode of the year wraps up our month-long theme of "Across the Universe," which featured wonderful guest storytellers from Improvised Star Trek and A Klingon Christmas Carol as well as the usual group of Nerdologues members and friends!

Part 2 of July's revelry episode gets JUST AS CRAZY as the first one (by which we mean, it stays relatively sane but features people telling really entertaining-slash-reflective stories about their past exploits).

Hello friends! Welcome to the first of our two-part episode where we explore the theme of revelry and what it means to us nerdy types. We got a lot of great stories out of this month's show, and we hope you enjoy them!

Last weekend the Nerdologues crew trek'd down to sunny St. Louis, MO for a couple shows at Project Comic-Con, St. Louis' premiere comic convention. As it happens I recorded the show, and to make up for you guys only getting one episode of Your Stories this month, I thought I'd release some of that show here!

Well, friends, we had some technical difficulties this month that ended up losing us five stories and four songs. Still, we salvaged what we could to bring you this EXTRA-SIZED episode all about family! Once again our storytellers don't disappoint; this episode features a great mix of the comedic and the touching. Make sure you listen after the song for a VERY SPECIAL story from our friend Shawn Boyle.

Man, if you thought Your Stories got real before, you ain't heard nothin' yet. For our first officially themed episode, we decided to talk about sex, and the results are surprisingly honest, poignant and excellent. Serious round of applause for our storytellers this month.

So a few weeks ago Dwight and I went to record a couple podcasts with the dudes in Unshaven Comics. While we were there we just HAPPENED to run into Reed Richards and Ben Grimm, aka Mr. Fantastic and the Thing, from the world-famous Fantastic Four. There was no way we could let the meeting pass without asking them to speak a little bit on the topic of next month's podcast... SEX. So, if you ever wondered what the FF have to say about gettin' it on, wonder no more. Please enjoy this tease of May's episodes, the first of which drops next Tuesday!

So here's something: April is the last "themeless" episode of NP:YS. The music episode was so popular that we decided to have a rough unifying principle guiding each recording going forward. Still, three of the four stories represented in this part of April's show have a kind of childhood/growing up theme to them, so get ready to wax nostalgic!

At the end of last month we hosted our first ever live remote show at Challengers Comics, 1845 N. Western Ave in Chicago. It was a total blast and we really appreciate all our old and new friends who came out, as well as the accommodating staff at that lovely shop. Here's the episode that resulted! We had to cut a few things due to some shaky audio (though mostly this episode's up to our regular quality), and you'll find a few more prepared comedy bits than usual, so we could introduce the new audience to what it is the Nerdologues does.

It's March, which starts with the letter M. You know what else starts with the letter M? Mmm... donuts. ALSO - music! This episode is all (mostly) about music and features some fantastic original, never-before-heard songs by comedians Andrew Bentley, Bill Kenkel, Steve Persch and Claire Freidman, as well as a really touching monologue about music's power from blogger Shawn Boyle. Claire, myself and all-around creative fellah Myke Golliday also have non-musical nerd moments to share. Join us, won't you?

This episode features Nerdologues troupe member Bill Kenkel lecturing us on the futility of existence, film blogger Aaron Pinkston with an oral history of bad haircuts, and theater writer/producer/manager Byron Hatfield providing a tale of summer jobs that nerdy kids just shouldn't have. Once again our friend Matt Heckler lends his considerable musical talent to this month's proceedings.

IT IS NOW TIME FOR THE FEBRUARY EPISODE OF YOUR STORIES. Well, the first part, anyway. This show we've got improviser Steve Persch regaling us with a tale of contextual coolness, blogger Shawn Boyle sharing his fear of the apocalypse, Nerdologues troupe member Kevin Reader reliving the glory days of eighth grade basketball and special guest stand-up Mat Elfring (of Comicvine fame) sharing some tales from his time in the comic book industry. Additionally, this month we're joined musically by one Matt Heckler, an excellent folk singer/songwriter from the south suburbs of Chicago.

Once again we're coming at you with a great collection of audience-generated stories for your enjoyment. We've got a good one for you. You'll hear blogger Shawn Boyle calculate the preciousness of life mathematically. Comedian Andrew Bentley and myself share two love letters to musicians named Bruce - Dickinson and Springsteen, respectively. Additionally, Kevin Reader and Alex Talavera from the Nerdologues share stories from previous runs of sketch shows, including a scathing Amazon review and a Crisis on Infinite Alexes. Hey everybody, welcome to the second part of the Nerdologues Present: Your Stories December podcast. Like last time, the show you're about to hear was recorded live at the Pub Theater, 3220 N Lincoln Avenue in Chicago. Everything on this podcast has been created and performed by audience members who volunteered to share their stories. This time out, you'll hear from Chicago comedian and production master Jeremy Kanne, who recalls doing whatever it took to be cool in junior high. Blogger and film critic Aaron Pinkston gives us a taste into his neuroses for cataloging trivia, and the mysterious Angela shares a story of falling in love over some eloquently-written e-mails. PLUS I relate a recent experience involving broken hearts and comic books. As usual, the show also features live music from myself and Dwight Haesler of the band Take Cover.

To tie in with the Nerdologues sketch troupe's month-long run of shows in July entitled "The Skywalking Dead" -- which was all about the end of the world -- this month we've got a bunch of stories along those same lines. The Nerdologues Presents: Your Stories is a storytelling podcast sponsored by the Chicago sketch comedy troupe the Nerdologues that features totally audience-generated content. Each month people share stories, songs, sketches and the like about their experiences being a nerd. They can be funny, poignant or even outright sad, but they're all honest and they're all fantastic.

A few weeks ago I asked people to nominate their favorite stories from our first year in existence so I could put together an end-of-the-year "best-of" podcast episode. As you might imagine, I have quite a few favorites myself, and since I run the show, I thought I would put out a whole episode chosen by me as well. That's what you're looking at now: 2012's "Producer's Picks." These were stories that, for one reason or another, stayed with me throughout the year. In addition to rereleasing them here, I've also recorded new intros for each story so you can hear me say nice things about the people who told them!

In case you haven't heard, the Nerdologues is celebrating Life Day in style this Friday with our Nerd Wars Holiday Special show at iO Chicago. This is our take on the classic and awful Star Wars Holiday Special that, if you're lucky, you've never seen. It involves us trying to get Joe Gennaro back to his family for the holidays despite his home planet of Ohio being taken over by the worst enemy of all... the Bro Empire. To have a little fun, we thought we'd release a podcast-only teaser for the show this week that shows the gritty, horrid details of the bro takeover of Ohio. You can listen to it here! I only hope we can get Joe home in time for the traditional Life Day ham.

About a month ago, Upstairs Gallery - the venue we used to call home - hosted an awesome comedy festival in the city, and they were kind enough to let us record an episode of our podcast there. And here it is! Because it was their first festival and ours, we thought "First Times" would make a pretty nifty theme. And because there was a podcast portion of the festival, we thought it would be cool to invite other podcasters to participate. So we did!

Here at Your Stories, we're all about giving you more bang for your buck. Of course, you don't pay anything for this show, but still, here's some bonus content from this past month, including a super awesome online submission on April's theme of madness from regular storyteller Charlie Madsen, as well as some songs Dwight and I performed at an Improvised Star Trek/Nerdologues show a few weeks ago. Improvised Star Trek, by the way, is a super great group of people with a super great podcast of their own.

Last night we recorded our monthly Your Stories show, the one that will mostly be released in January. Nerdologues member Alex Talavera, though, decided to tell a story that we thought it was best to release right away. Alex's life has been threatened by attackers with guns three times, and he wanted to talk about the idea - popularly floating around right now - that if you yourself are armed you can stop the "bad guys" from whatever they're doing. This is a great story, and it's offered without any promotional frills. Please give it a listen.

You may not know this about me, but I love me some Superman. So last week when the Nerdologues teamed up with Chicago Loot Drop to riff on the classic Richard Donner Superman film, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get some cool cats together and talk about what the Man of Steel means to them. This is the first invitation-only Your Stories we ever did, and it was a ton of fun. Included here are great friends, bloggers, musicians, retailers, and even an Eisner Award-winning artist/writer.
